One Step at a Time

Written By: Madelyn Brannon

"One step at a time" is an upbeat ukulele song that explores topics such as growing up, moving on, and being present. Though it sounds light hearted and is in a way, it’s also deep at the same time. It’s  both because processing a big change is both. It shows how joy and sadness can coexist. The hope I have for this song is for people to be able to process change and have gratitude for where they’ve been and be able to move on with hope for the future while trusting God in where He has you right now knowing He’ll lead you one step at a time.

Jumping through hoops is an emotional number about feeling like your worth is never enough to those around you. Need to Be Perfect

"Need To Be Perfect" is a beautiful song that turns a all too common feeling into a story. This track explains how attempting to change who you are as a person to satisfy someone else's desires will always leave you alone in the end. Written out of a personal battle with friends and this pressure from society, the goal of this song is to communicate to the listener that they are not alone and realize that watering down who they are will never make them more worthy of love.

Time to Let Go

Time to Let Go is a pensive piece analyzing the end of a relationship. It balances the faults of the writer while also factoring in the shortcomings of the other in the relationship. While it is critical, there is also a sense of sadness woven throughout. This piece is a great anthem for those who acknowledge that while a relationship was wonderful, there were flaws that couldn’t be brushed over and that it’s Time to Let Go.
